Pokemon

The Hisuian evolution to Ursaring, Ursaluna, has a special new form in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: Bloodmoon Ursaluna. While these are two forms of the same Pokémon, they have quite a number of differences. From their stats to their moves, read on to discover all the differences between regular Ursaluna and its Bloodmoon form in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Regular Ursaluna’s Evolutionary Line in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Regular Ursaluna evolves from Teddiursa and Ursaring, although Ursaring can’t evolve into Ursaluna in Scarlet and Violet. The only way to obtain it is by evolving Ursaring in Pokémon Legends: Arceus and transferring Ursaluna to Scarlet or Violet using Pokémon HOME. Bloodmoon Ursaluna, on the other hand, doesn’t evolve from Ursaring at all. You can breed it to produce Teddiursa eggs, but there is no way to evolve Ursaring into a Bloodmoon Ursaluna.

Regular and Bloodmoon Ursaluna’s Different Stats

Regular Ursaluna and Bloodmoon Ursaluna have distinctive stat differences that impact their overall battle performance. Regular Ursaluna has higher Attack and Defense stats compared to its Bloodmoon form. On the other hand, Bloodmoon Ursaluna excels in Special Attack and Special Defense stats, making it a formidable special attacker. It’s important to consider these differences when strategizing your team composition and deciding which form of Ursaluna best suits your battling style.

Regular and Bloodmoon Ursaluna’s Different Abilities

Regular Ursaluna has three possible abilities: Guts, Quick Feet, and Unnerve. Guts boosts its Attack stat when affected by a status condition, Quick Feet increases its Speed when afflicted with a status condition, and Unnerve prevents opposing Pokémon from consuming their held berries. On the other hand, Bloodmoon Ursaluna possesses an exclusive ability called Mind’s Eye. Mind’s Eye prevents its moves from being affected by Accuracy and Evasion modifiers. This unique ability gives Bloodmoon Ursaluna an edge in battles by bypassing accuracy-related hindrances.

Regular Ursaluna’s Different Attacks

Regular Ursaluna learns a variety of powerful attacks as it levels up. Some notable moves in its arsenal include Slash, Hammer Arm, Crunch, and Play Rough. With its high Attack stat, Regular Ursaluna can deal significant physical damage to opposing Pokémon. Blood Moon is a powerful dark-type move that deals damage and has a chance to lower the opponent’s Special Attack stat. This exclusive move adds to Bloodmoon Ursaluna’s offensive capabilities and makes it a force to be reckoned with in battles.

Regular and Bloodmoon Ursaluna’s Different TM Attacks

Both regular and Bloodmoon Ursaluna have access to a wide range of TM (Technical Machine) attacks. These moves can be taught to Ursaluna using TMs found throughout the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet games. Some TM moves that both forms of Ursaluna can learn include Earthquake, Shadow Ball, Ice Beam, and Hyper Beam. However, regular Ursaluna can also learn moves like Brick Break, while Bloodmoon Ursaluna can learn moves like Dark Pulse. These TM moves offer flexibility in battle strategies, allowing you to tailor Ursaluna’s move set based on your team’s needs.
